Decorating
kid rooms: Go all out for a Theme!
If you are facing the
task of decorating kid rooms, you need to create a space that is
both functional and comfortable. Decorating kid rooms
can be a fun and gratifying process if you approach the
project with a practical and realistic plan.
Once you (or more likely
your kid already knows what they want) pick a theme, the room
should go together easily. You will know when your kid room
theme has been achieved when the child who lives there walks in with
"wonder upon their face".
Decorating
kid rooms tips & ideas
1. First
and foremost, pick a kid room theme! Browse through home decor
magazines, ask your child what they want, and use the internet as a
tool to help you pick a kid room theme. Our website offers
numerous kid room themes also.
2. Next, get rid of
excess toys, books, clothing, etc. that your child no longer
uses. It is so important in any decorating project to remove
"stuff" that does not need to be there.
3. Be sure to use under
the bed storage bins whenever possible or necessary (if your space
is limited).
4. Create stations
throughout the kid room theme. Make a reading corner.
Create a cooking station, a train station, a car trek station, a
doll station, an art station, etc. Try to organize in a
grouping of like toys. Give each toy it's own special spot in
the room and label certain groups of toys to help the child learn to
put toys back in their spot.
5. Frame
your child's artwork and use it in the room to help decorate.
6. Use your
creative talents! Try one of our crafts : make a fabric
covered bulletin board.
We hope that you have
enjoyed our decorating / home organization oriented tips! Our
goal is to help people understand the process of maintaining and
updating decorating ideas throughout the home!
